David and Ken have restored hundreds of wood floors for many happy Niagara homeowners. Advances in finishing products offers a variety of options when it comes to refinishing your floors.
If your floor is in need of repair…don’t worry. Do Hardwood Floors can repair and often replace sections of floor before the restoration begins to give your floors a seamless and perfectly finished look.
Hardwood Floor Installation
From solid wood floors, exotic wood floors, pre-finished, to unfinished. Do Hardwood Floors has installed just about any type of wood flooring imaginable. If you are building a new home and you want the latest look or you are renovating a room and want a new wood floor, David and Ken would be happy to install it for you. No job too big or too small.
Unfinished Wood Floor Installation
Often a custom look can be achieved with the installation of unfinished hardwood flooring. This not only requires installation, but also complete finishing of the floor. This is a great choice for a homeowner who wants that one of a kind look. You can stain the floor and finish coat the way you want the floor to look. This is an alternative to many of the pre-finished wood floors.
At Do Hardwood Floors we carry a variety of stain colours that a homeowner can choose from. If you want something other then the natural wood colour then this may be an option for you. Often where there is discolouration from water damage, urine stains, etc. stain is a great solution. Some floors like maple or other harder woods require an additional stage of wetting the floor to open the grain of the wood to help absorb the stain.
Staining takes place once the floor has been completely sanded and is ready for top coating. Once the stain is applied the floor will require additional buffing before a top coat is applied.
Floor sanding can create a lot of dust. Do Hardwood Floors uses Dust Controlled Sanding when sanding your hardwood floors. David and Ken have all the necessary equipment and tools to get the job done right. Although it is impossible to be 100% dust free, every effort is made to keep the airborne dust to a minimum and after each job a thorough clean up is performed.
There are many stages to sanding your floors and it is the most important part. A finished product is only as good as the prep work and Do Hardwood Floors prides themselves on quality workmanship.
Refinishing of Wood Stairs
Where there are wood floors there are often wood stairs so why stop with the floors. Wood stairs can be made into the focal point of your home. Stairs can often be a challenge and certainly take special care to refinish. When you hire the professionals like Do Hardwood Floors you won’t be disappointed. There are many finishing options available today for even the most discerning client. Call to see what we can do for you…
Laminate Floor Installation
Laminate flooring has become more and more popular as an alternative to hardwood. It is much more durable and often less expensive than hardwood. With technology advancements laminate can look very much like hardwood and often hard to tell apart from the real thing.
Do hardwood has installed thousands of square feet of laminate flooring of every make and brand imaginable, each one offering it’s set of challenges. Laminate is usually a floating floor and most laminate flooring requires an underlayment although some come with this underlayment as an integral part of the plank system. Also a great alternative for dog owners!
What flooring job wouldn’t be complete without some good old baseboard. Do Hardwood Floors has installed thousands of feet of baseboard to add that finishing touch to your floor installation or refinishing.
Many times it is necessary to remove some of the baseboard in order to properly install or refinish a floor. David and Ken make every effort to remove the baseboard trim carefully, but this is not always possible. In some cases the replacement of the baseboards can add a whole new look to the room.
